Renowned Toowoomba pub listed for sale for the first time in more than two decades

Brisbane, 14 March 2019 – Historic Toowoomba establishment The Spotted Cow has been listed for sale via an Expressions of Interest campaign.

CBRE Hotels’ agent Paul Fraser in conjunction with Power Jeffery & Co agents Peter Power and Andy Nason will steer the sale on behalf of well-known Queensland hospitality owners Mick and Dianne Coorey.

“After 23 years it’s time to retire, Dianne and I are ready to pass on our beloved pub to new owners,” Mick Coorey added.

“This Queensland institution is being offered for sale for the first time in more than two decades,” Power Jeffery & Co’s Peter Power said.

“It provides an opportunity for an astute buyer to reposition a long-established pub with a proven trading history and take it to the next level."

CBRE’s Mr Fraser noted that the hotel occupied a commanding corner position on the main street of Toowoomba in an area that was set to benefit from significant new development projects.

“The property offers diversified income streams including bar, food, functions, entertainment and 20 gaming machines,” Mr Fraser said.

“Major development projects in the immediate proximity of the hotel include the recently completed Super Bunnings Warehouse and the Defiance Flour Mill site directly opposite, which is set to be the showpiece of Toowoomba’s planned “Mills Precinct”, incorporating commercial, retail, residential and entertainment space. We believe that these developments will substantial benefit The Spotted Cow.”

Toowoomba is Australia’s largest inland provincial city and the major regional service centre for the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley farming and grazing industries as well as the Surat Basin coal mining region and extensive LNG operations and development projects.
